2011 Hyperflite Skyhoundz
Canine Flying Disc Championship
Athletic dogs will be jumping for joy – literally – when they compete at Marysville Poochapalooza on Saturday, July 9 to earn the title of champion during the 2009 Hyperflite Skyhoundz Regional Canine Dog Championships.
Competition start time is 10 a.m., with additional competition times announced at the tournament. Poochapalooza. The competition will occur on the soccer field at Strawberry Fields Athletic Park, 6100 152nd St., as a premier Poochapalooza featured event.
There is no entry fee for competing. Novice and veteran competitors alike are invited to compete in categories for distance, accuracy and freestyle. No pre-registration is required. Just show up 30 minutes early at the Hyperflite Skyhoundz judging table. Competitors will receive a free official Hyperflite K-10 Competition standard flying disc while they last; the top three teams will receive awards. If you do wish to pre-register, you can by downloading the form at the bottom of this page, then return it completed to M-DOG/Poochapalooza at our main address - bring it with you on event day!
Contestants and their canine teammates will earn points for basic throws and catches, with bonus point bonus points for mid-air catches in the Distance/Accuracy event. The event welcomes mixed-breed as well as purebred dogs. Many of the canines expected to compete were rescued from local animal shelters. Families and friends are invited to enjoy this unique event and applaud these talented canine athletes.
We will be inviting back Ray Calhoun, Northwest Champion and competitor at the world series level, to call the championship at Poochapalooza, and give demonstration during breaks.
